We are currently interviewing mechanics who can install new truck equipment (snowplows, spreaders, lift axles, lift gates, dump bodies, service bodies, platforms, truck mounted cranes, and propane delivery equipment) on trucks and trailers. Qualified applicant will also have the ability to perform general repairs to trailers and truck equipment. Hydraulic experience is a big plus but not required. CDL is also a big plus but not required. Applicants with either Michigan Department of State mechanic certifications or ASE certifications in the areas of Heavy Duty Brakes, Suspensions, Electrical, and Drive train will be given preference.  At a minimum we require a Michigan Department of State trainee permit. Interested applicants should have good welding skills, good knowledge of electrical wiring of trucks and trailers, good general mechanic skills, good work ethic, and a desire to work with a team of successful individuals. The job does not involve engine or transmission work. Starting hourly pay is based on experience and ability. Full benefits are paid by Scientific after 90 days of employment. We are currently seeking applications for a full time Truck Equipment sales position to take over an established territory at our Mt. Pleasant Branch. The responsibilities of this position are to help our customers find solutions to their truck equipment needs. Product offering will include truck mounted equipment such as snowplows, salt spreaders, van interior packages, platform bodies, service bodies, dump bodies, lift gates, tarp systems, truck mounted cranes and van bodies. You will be responsible for prospecting, quoting, and selling all products in the Truck Equipment category for the entire Scientific Brake & Equipment branch in Mt. Pleasant. Duties include taking care of walk-in customers, taking incoming equipment calls, making outside sales calls on customers at their place of business, customer follow-up phone calls, and technical support to customers and prospects. Customers will include commercial fleet operations, truck dealers, truck and trailer service and repair facilities, agricultural accounts, schools and university fleets and municipal, county and state garages. Full benefits are offered after a 90 day probationary period.
